We were delighted to receive the photo above showing children in Kisii, Kenya using our Bible Lessons. We thank God for every young life hearing the Gospel. Please pray for the many Sunday School Teachers and Children's Workers in Kenya and Uganda who are seeking to reach out to the children in their vacinity.
An event in the compound of our office in Nairobi a few days ago led to a lot of visitors to our office. We thank God for those who learnt about our lessons and materials and registered to use them. We Praise God for helping Eunice to deal with the many demands that were placed upon her that day. Our Nairobi office will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Joyce has continued to be busy travelling to various children's groups. Pray on for her and her family. William and I were really blessed yesterday as we took a meeting. It was not children, they were older. It was not sharing about FML, but simply a straightforward Gospel meeting. William knew the Lord's help as he led and brought the message. I played the keyboard and enjoyed the singing. We believe those in attendance were encouraged by us and we certainly were encouraged by them. Later in the evening we were blessed yet again as we joined friends locally. Again, the Lord helped as William led and I played. We thank God for the message which we listened to and to the message in song. What a blessing to be able to serve. We would like to wish you a very Happy Easter. As you remember the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, may you be blessed to know that we serve a risen Saviour who still saves!

William has completed his 3 year course at the Irish Baptist College. He has asked me to thank those of you who have prayed for him over these past years. God has kept him safe as he travelled week by week, as he listened in class and as he completed assignments. The Lord also provided for all of his fees to be paid in full before completion of the course. The subjects covered have been very informative as well as practical and will be of continued benefit to him in the future as he serves the Lord. Graduation is in May.
This incoming week, William appreciates prayer as he has the responsibility of bringing a message at a meeting. I will be playing the organ. Pray for all preparations and for God's leading. Another new venue for us. We have received our first booking for a meeting in 2017 and even more encouraging is the fact that it is in another new Church we have never been to before. It is just amazing how many new opportunities have opened up to us of late. We thank and praise God for this. In the office I am also finishing off my part in a very exciting project. I was asked to do this by a Children's Worker for a Church in Kenya and I count it an honour to be part of it. Pray for him and others involved that this particular outreach will be a blessing to many who are seeking to win the children for the Lord. I look forward to the day when the project is made public and I can share with you. Pray on for Joyce as she hopes to visit some new areas quite soon. These are people who have requested our lessons. Pray for funds for her to travel. Pray on for Eunice in her responsibilities in the office. The computer course is helping her a great deal and she is coming up with various ideas of using this new knowledge in the ministry. Pray that God will provide the needed funds for office rent in Nairobi as there are some arrears on this. Pray that God will continue to bless and open up many opportunities to share the Gospel with boys and girls. Pray that many will come to know Him as Saviour. We love receiving photos like the one above. This one came from Joyce and shows just a few of the children who received Bibles over the past few weeks. Praise God for many more children who have received their own copy of the Word of God. Pray that they will treasure their Bible and that God will speak to them through it. We thank God for how He helped Joyce as she ministered and we thank Him for news of children coming to know the Lord as Saviour. Pray that these children will know a real change in their lives and will become men and women of God. Our hearts are rejoicing today because God has answered prayer concerning the office situation in Nairobi. We won't take time to go into details here, but if you are on our mailing list you will be able to read more when we send out our latest update over the next few days. Meantime, we just thank and praise God for how he has worked everything out. We were encouraged this weekend as we were booked to take a meeting in yet another new venue. This came as a result of the recent missionary convention we attended. Indeed we were at that convention with our stand as a result of a previous similar event. It is wonderful how each opening can lead to another opportunity. We were also encouraged this weekend to be told of a group who want to support FML financially each month. This was totally unexpected and we really felt humbled. Monthly gifts, no matter how small make planning a little bit easier and we appreciate those who support us in this way. As you know, we now have a page on this site for local projects being run by local people. One such project is in relation to the construction of a Church building. You can read the story by clicking here. We were so encouraged to see the progress made. Have a look at some photos...(click to enlarge and see captions) We would love to encourage you to pray for this project. Local people are working hard to provide a place for people in the area to hear the Gospel. We are particularly encouraged to see the effort that is going into a room for the children. We pray that this will be a place where many boys and girls hear the Word of God and are saved. This project is so typical of the vision that Kenyan people have. They get about the work and they have a determination to keep going until the work is complete. They face many obstacles but they keep going. They build basic buildings, with no luxuries, and they keep the vision of lost souls before them rather than trying to erect a nicer more modern building than the neighbouring congregation.
I wonder do Christians in the West, in the UK, in Northern Ireland have the same vision? Are missions held as they used to be? Do congregations go out into the highways and byways to reach the lost or do we sit back and hope that the lost will come in through the doors of a Church? Do we sit in modern Churches that have comfortable seats, plush carpets and the best sound systems but yet there is very little vision and many empty pews? This Church may not be painted to perfection, it may not have cushioned seats and soft carpet, but speaking from our experience in Africa.... this building will be filled with people seeking after God. This building will be a light house in the area and every effort will be made by the local believers to go out and win the lost. William and I have been blessed to be able to do some work on our home over the past year and so many evenings we talk about how the Lord has enabled it. There is much still to do, even from a safety aspect. It may not be the most modern home and we may not be in a position to do everything we would like to do and have everything just so so but it is the home God has provided for us. We still have a mortgage to pay, but God provides for it. We may have had visitors at times who have criticised our home either to ourselves or to others, who have thought we should have done more over years when dad and I lived in the home and didn't have the funds to do the work. But we do not regret the times when we did have a little money but we chose to spend it on trips to Kenya instead of doing work on the house. If we had the funds personally now we would be on the first flight we could get and our own needs would wait. We may not always fit the mould with our car that has dents in it for the past 4 years because there's always something more important to spend our money on. But we thank God for a roof over our heads and a happy marriage and pray that the house and material possessions will never become more important than Eternity. We also pray that our vision for souls will never be dimmed and that we will continue to be challenged by those we minister among and learn from their determination to work for God no matter the cost. We pray that we will never be drawn away by luxuries and large Church buildings but will take the humble road as Jesus did and have a servant heart. Maybe it is time for Christians in Northern Ireland to get their priorities in the right order. There is nothing wrong with a nice house, a car and a holiday. We look forward to a few days away together too and know that time together is important for a couple and for a family. But maybe as we look at these photos we can ask ourselves are we really going out to win souls wherever they are to be found or are we content to sit in our big, modern, empty Churches while all around souls are dying. A simple reminder from a song which was sung at our wedding. Perhaps it is more real and significant to us today than it was then. [Verse 1] While the world looks upon me As I struggle along They say I've got nothing But they are so wrong In my heart I'm rejoicing How I wish they could see Thank you Lord For your blessing on me! [Chorus] There's a roof up above me I've a good place to sleep There's food on my table And shoes on my feet You gave me your love Lord And a fine family Thank you Lord For your blessings on me! [Verse 2] I know I'm not wealthy These clothes, they're not new I don't have much money But Lord I have you And that's all that matters Though the world may not see Thank you Lord For your blessings on me! [Chorus] There's a roof up above me I've a good place to sleep There's food on my table And shoes on my feet You gave me your love Lord And a fine family Thank you Lord For all your blessings on me! We have appreciated your prayers over the past week. Another week of activities, meetings and decisions for ourselves and our workers in Kenya and Uganda; another week of having the privilege to serve God. Speaking with Joyce from Uganda can sometimes be challenging as the network isn't great in the area where she lives. This past week she has been travelling in Western Kenya and so we managed to speak with her for quite a while. Joyce is so faithful to the Lord and dedicated to the work of Feed my Lambs. When we first met her she was so shy and quiet. Now she is totally fearless and committed in her ministry. She has spent these past days travelling with her two children. Her husband remained at home in Uganda. I was very excited to be able to speak briefly with her little girl as well!! Joyce was able to visit 8 centres in Western who are already using our lessons with their children. These are a mixture of Churches and Schools. New centres have also enrolled. She spent the weekend in another area sharing the Gospel with children and introducing the work of FML. We thank God for the opportunities she has had and the blessing she has been. We Praise God for the new contacts made and those who have decided to use our lessons with the children in their vicinity. Below are some photos of the weekend. You may be able to spot Joyce in the purple suit....second from left in the second photo and far right in the third photo. For the area visited over the weekend, more lessons were needed. These had to come from our Nairobi office. I'm thankful for the contacts we have made over the years which allowed me to contact someone who works for the bus company and arrange for the transportation of the lessons from our Nairobi office to Joyce further up country. Eunice was able to sort the lessons needed as well as application forms and make sure they were ready for the journey. We have a great team! Pray on for Eunice as she looks after the office, keeps records, marks lessons, distributes lessons, looks after the library etc. She is getting on well on her computer course and we trust this will be of help in the work. Please pray on for the office situation. I have today called the Landlord in Kenya and managed to speak with him. There is some reassurance and also still a lot of uncertainty with the situation. Please pray on that God will sort everything out for us. Pray also that the funds needed will be provided by God right on time. Also last week the Lord helped us as we shared in a mid-week missionary prayer meeting. I shared some aspects of the ministry with a powerpoint presentation and William then shared the remainder of the presentation and brought a message from God's Word. It was encouraging to hear people pray for us personally and to remember the work in general. William returned to his course. He has just two weeks left now, so the countdown is on. Please pray for him as he completes his final assignment over the next few days. Pray for him also as he continues with manual work throughout the day. We thank God for how he has worked everything together for good. William has more opportunities of service in meetings over the next few months, so please pray that he will know the Lord's help in this. I enjoyed being in the office over the past week. As well as the normal admin and other ministries of FML, I had the privilege of beginning a project which I was asked to assist in by a full time children's worker in Kenya. I will share more about this in the future when I'm permitted to do so by those who are overseeing the project, but for now I would ask you to continue to pray regarding it. I was so blessed, encouraged and challenged as I began my part. On Friday I travelled to a town around an hour and a half from home to take part in a craft morning which is held for ladies. This was so enjoyable and I was blessed to join with them. The ladies meet together and, amongst other craft activities; they knit items of clothing and blankets etc. These are then given to various missionaries and organisations. We are delighted that they chose to give some of these items to Feed my Lambs. I was privileged to receive them. I was also given numerous Bibles and some little notebooks. All will be so useful for the work in Africa. (The photo shows just a few items received.) I was able to share with the ladies about the work of Feed my Lambs and to show them where some of their items would finally end up. They enjoyed seeing photos of previously donated items being distributed. I have included some of these photos below. It was also a privilege to bring a Gospel message using "Knitting" as a theme. God really helped. A number of opportunities for service are in the pipeline for William and myself at the minute. For some we are waiting on further information and confirmation and for some we are simply praying and asking God for His will. Please pray that God opens the doors of His choosing and firmly shuts those which are not for us.
Please pray on that we and our team in Africa will continue to be faithful in doing God's work and sharing the Gospel with the lost. Yesterday, Churches across the world sang the famous hymn "Facing a task unfinished." This is a favourite of mine and William's. We sang it at the recent missionary convention we were involved in and, like many across the world, we sang it yesterday in two different services. It reminds us of the great need there is to bring the Gospel to those who are still lost in sin. The task is not yet complete. Thank you for praying for us as we endeavour to do our part. We thank God for His help this past week in meetings. We were blessed to share in a Church in Belfast and thank God for the continued prayers of His people. This incoming week we have two more meetings. We will both share at the prayer meeting and I will share at a ladies' craft morning. Quite a variety this week. Please pray for these opportunities and ask that God will help us and guide us in preparation. Pray for William at his course. He has just 3 weeks and 1 assignment left... 3 years almost complete. Please also pray that we will have continued discernment in all we do. Over the years we have been conscious of the devil fighting against us. From time to time we are contacted by people who have an unhealthy interest in the work and whose motives are questionable. The Lord always shows us and reveals the truth of these situations. However, we know that we always need to be on our guard and continually seeking Him for wisdom and protection. Please pray to this end. Finally we would ask you to pray very much for our ongoing office situation in Kenya. This is now quite an urgent matter for prayer. Substantial funds are needed in a very short space of time and also we need clarity on the situation. Please make this a priority for prayer. We are trusting God and asking Him to work everything out for good. As long as the task is unfinished, the devil will continue to fight.... but the Lord will continue to have victory. Whilst we prefer the original hymn, without the new chorus, we know that most important is the challenge brought to us to work for the Lord while it is day. We hope you too will be burdened for souls as you view the video and listen to these great words. Last week was quite a long post. Today, it's the opposite. Just a little post.
Pray for Eunice who has begun a computer course which we feel will be of great benefit to the ministry. Pray that the Lord will help her with the additional work for the duration of the course. Pray for Joyce as she has visited new centres. We are communicating via text message but having trouble with the network there when we try calling. Pray for William and myself as we have a few more meetings over the course of the next week. We appreciate prayer for preparation and help during the actual meetings. Please keep on praying. ![]() Thank you so much for praying for us. We have had a great weekend and have been really blessed. For those of you who receive our email updates, you will know that we had a stand at a missionary convention from Thursday through until yesterday; Monday. This was another new opening for us and we are so grateful to the Lord for allowing us this new opportunity. It was such a privilege for us to be able to man the stand at each meeting. We met many new people who were interested in the work of Feed my Lambs and it was so encouraging to be able to share prayer cards and literature with them and answer their questions. We also appreciate those who signed up for our prayer letter and those who assured us they would be praying for us. We laughed, cried, remembered and pondered on many issues throughout the weekend. We laughed with other missionaries and enjoyed their company. We enjoyed meeting again others who were representing their missions. We often don't see these dear friends between these events, yet we continue on as we left off and of course we met new missionary friends. It's also lovely for us to have opportunity to talk with those who understand the joys and challenges of missionary life. We had tears in our eyes when once again memories of dad came flooding back. He would have been there in his FML uniform and we missed him as some spoke to us of him. It also meant so much to both of us; but especially for William; to meet people who knew his Uncle Bobby and also his Granda Aiken... a man whom William never knew but carries on his name. Such a blessing to be told by a man of 89 years old who knew them that he would pray for us. There were also many things to think about, to talk about and pray about. God's Word over the weekend was challenging. A message on the closing night was particularly relevant to us (William and myself) in so many ways and certainly gave us much to think about. It was actually a ladies meeting on the closing night and as I sat amongst the ladies in the main sanctuary, William sat in the gallery with other men from some of the mission organisations. Although we were apart, we couldn't even see each other, or see each other's reactions.... yet we knew what the other would be thinking. It's amazing how God sees the need and speaks in the same way to a married couple. Such a blessing. We were encouraged in our hearts throughout the weekend to continue in the work. Various songs and Bible verses quoted reminded us of how God had spoken in the past. Yet we were also challenged to do more and somehow, whilst FML has grown in the various ministries and outreaches it offers and we seem to be always busy, yet, in the light of eternity, we felt that really we are doing so little. Pray for us as we seek to serve the Lord and pray about various issues and outreach ideas and burdens which were put on our hearts over the weekend. As we travelled backwards and forwards to the meetings we talked much and reflected on what we had seen, heard and experienced. As we talked more with the missionaries we found they were thinking just like us. As we all looked back over the past year and the various meetings, conventions and events we have attended; the same story was there that very few young people attend mission events. People in their thirties are few; People in their twenties are low; younger almost non-existent. Not even just in mission events, but ladies meetings too.... so many meetings and we have been the youngest or certainly amongst the youngest there. We spoke with many missionaries and we looked around the stands. With the exception of just a couple of people, again we were amongst the youngest. So many stands being represented by people in their fifties, sixties and older. Certainly there are many young people who love the Lord and are seeking His will and who have a desire to serve Him; but it has to be said that even we see a decline since we began representing FML. We spoke to more than one missionary over the weekend who said they were tired. Not tired with doing God's work, but tired physically. Tired because of the travelling to meetings. Tired to the point of ill health. Unable to do what they want to do because of illness. As I write I have our mailing list beside me. Just those who receive our prayer letter by post. There are over 100 addresses. Now some of these people receive a quantity of letters for their Churches, groups etc. We also have many more who receive our prayer news by email and those who follow us on facebook. No doubt facebook and email is more appealing to younger people than a printed prayer letter and we certainly do have younger contacts via these ways. However, this list still tells a story. Forgive me if I am wrong... but as far as I can see, no-one of those named on our printed list is under 30 years old. Those in their thirties are just a handful. We are very rarely contacted by people under 30 in regard to the work, to say they are praying for us. We could probably list quite easily the number of people under 30 who have given financial gifts over the years. In fact, the majority of younger people who do contact us, who do show a real interest in the work are actually people from Africa! The very place we are trying to reach. This post is not meant to discourage anyone of any age. It is just to relay the picture that so many missionaries are seeing as they attend meetings across the country. It is just to encourage the younger people to see the benefit of missions and of serving God. Of course this may be locally and that is just as important. It is to encourage us to pray much. Noel Grant was a faithful servant of God. We were very privileged to have known him and privileged that he was on our mailing list. Hymns and verses he wrote were quoted over the weekend and we remembered him fondly. Noel has now gone to be with the Lord. His name was removed from our mailing list.... but he was not replaced by a young person. Yes we have added to our list, but not young people in their teens and twenties. He just represents a number of faithful people who prayed for us, who have gone to be with the Lord and the gap has not been filled. So many people in recent days have also commented to us about little mission halls dotted around our country. In so many cases they are being run by people who have attended maybe 30, 50 and even 60 or more years. It has been said to us in numerous places recently that the older people have died and they haven't been replaced. Let us really pray that God will burden both young and old. There is a job for all to do for God. Each age group can learn from the other. We shouldn't always have to have separate meetings for young and old. One of the greatest blessings to me in FML was that I had the privilege of having my dad alongside me. He was 73 when he was last in Africa. A real privilege. We have been challenged in so many ways. The message last night reminded us to be servants of God. So today, apart from this blog and updating our mailing list with new contacts from the weekend, what have I been doing? Well, there has been a challenge to serve and our heads have many thoughts spinning around.... but today, I have had a mop in my hand, I have washing in the machine and I have potatoes to peel. Because as well as being a missionary, I am a wife. That is also a privilege and we can serve God even in being a good spouse. You may be 15, you may be 90. You may be a full time worker, a worker in your Church or you may be a mum who stays home to look after the house and the needs of her husband and children. It doesn't matter which you are. God has a plan for you. God has a way for you to serve. There is no position higher than another. The mother has a ministry to her children in the same way as a Pastor has a ministry to his congregation. One is not better than the other. Yes, we long for more young people holding the ropes in meetings and at mission events.... but the most important thing is that you know God's plan just for you and you follow it. That is the best way to serve Him. A later than usual update this week. Things have been pretty busy, and, whilst we do see the importance of keeping our prayer partners updated; the blog had to move down slightly in the priorities this week. Glad to finally be able to take a few minutes to write.
Thank you for praying for us throughout the past week. Last Monday evening William and I travelled to Bangor to speak at a ladies' meeting. We used a powerpoint presentation. I shared part of the presentation telling about some aspects of the work including some opportunities we have had to share the Gospel direction with children and William then spoke about our lessons, Bible distribution and Library. He then finished with a closing message from God's Word. It was an encouraging meeting and a date was set for us to return to collect items for our clothes collection. We appreciate this support very much. On Thursday night William returned to his Bible College Course. Not many weeks left now. I was able to share in a Ladies' meeting in Dungannon. This was only the second meeting I took on my own since we married. I missed my husband! We thank God for this opportunity. On Friday evening we travelled to Moneymore to update some prayer partners there. We used a new presentation for the first time to bring some specific matters for prayer. We thank God for their interest. Preparation for meetings takes time, especially when preparing new presentations, but we enjoy these opportunities and are thankful for them. Last week I mentioned that we were preparing new literature. This turned into a bigger and more detailed task than we originally thought. Many hours were spent this past week finalising content and designing the leaflets. It involved late nights and at times a little panic that it wouldn't be completed on time. William found himself repeating the words my dad often said to me.... "You work better under pressure!" It brought back memories of my dad.... but it's a true statement. I certainly felt the pressure at times. William and I had worked together on the ideas and overall content. It was my job to put it in words and then William sorted the layout and design. Thankfully we got there and today I collected a supply of 7 new leaflets from our printer, along with 500 more copies of our prayer card. The leaflets are very specifically for different ministries within FML. In response to the many questions we are asked; they include information, cost involved and prayer requests for individual outreaches that we have. Please pray much for us as we have opportunity to distribute these over the coming week. We appreciate very much your prayers for us and look forward to sharing more next week of how this literature was used. We've also been encouraged this week by a detailed report from Joyce in Uganda; email contact with children's workers who have been in touch regarding our lessons; and the opportunity to be asked to be involved in a very exciting project which is being led by a Children's Evangelist with whom we work closely. Thank you for your prayers. A few days ago William and I were reading Psalm 37 together. It is a particular favourite of mine. I remember being a leader on a children's camp many years ago and the memory verses for the week consisted of the first few verses of this precious Scripture. I remember also when we were going through some challenging times with the work in Africa and a good friend who has since gone to be with the Lord shared some verses from this Psalm with us and how the Lord had spoken to him through it regarding the situation we were in at the time. Then I remember a few days after my dad was diagnosed with cancer, our Pastor came to visit him in hospital and this was the Psalm he read. And so we found ourselves turning to it again and being encouraged by the words that are found there. We never tire of turning to it and we rejoice in how it has been a blessing to us in the past. So many encouragements even in the first few verses to TRUST in the Lord; to DELIGHT in the Lord; to COMMIT our way to the Lord; to REST in the Lord and then the promises that He will provide for us, give us the desires of our heart, bring our thoughts to pass and work all things for our good. What wonderful promises to hold on to in our personal lives and in the work and ministry of Feed my Lambs. Our God is so faithful.
We look to Him for continued help. In the past week, Joyce was able to visit 5 centres who are using our lessons and was encouraged by the progress there. Eunice has also been communicating with the School we mentioned last week and is working alongside the Teachers to get the children back on track again with the Lessons. William had a good night at his Bible College course and I was blessed at a local meeting on the same evening. We have received emails from Children's workers in Kenya who have heard of FML and we look forward to partnering with them in the coming days and encouraging them in their ministry to boys and girls. William and I appreciate prayer as we share in a meeting this evening and then as we have another 2 meetings this week; we look to the Lord for help in final preparations. We have prayed and talked much regarding the literature which was also mentioned in last week's blog. We have come up with some ideas and content which we feel can work. Today and tomorrow I will be working on getting these put together. There is quite a lot involved so I appreciate prayer. William will then review them again. If we're both happy with the content they will then go to the printer for designing and printing. As yet the funds are not available, so we are going ahead in faith that God will provide. Please pray concerning this. Finally, thank you for praying for my arm injury. It has much improved and I am sleeping better, however, I still have some numbness in one finger and an ongoing niggling pain which gets quite severe in the cold, when driving, and also when using the computer for a while. I appreciate your ongoing prayers and give thanks to God for the massive improvement. God is good. Our thoughts today are with the families of those affected by the recent terrorist attacks in Burkina Faso. An American missionary was among those who lost his life and we are saddened for his wife and family. We also remember those who have been kidnapped.
It makes us stop and thank God for His hand upon us during numerous mission trips. We realise more than ever than we need God's protection in these days. We know that in Kenya, families are also mourning the lost of their husbands, sons, brothers who were part of the armed forces in Kenya and who were killed last week. We pray for the peace of God to be with them. Closer to home, we know of those who have lost loved ones. Maybe the circumstances haven't been so dramatic, but the pain and loss is just the same. As we think of these events there is much to discourage us. But today I have been thinking of the verse of scripture which says, "David encouraged himself in the Lord." David was having a pretty bad day, realising that so much of what was important to him was gone and even his own men turned against him. But he encouraged himself in the Lord. Serving the Lord is a privilege, but it isn't all glamorous. There are challenges and sometimes very heavy burdens to carry that very often can't be shared. When speaking in meetings it can all sound very exciting, when sometimes we have heavy hearts. But we thank God that we can encourage ourselves in Him. David didn't have many to encourage him, but we thank God for those who have encouraged us over the past few days. We received a phone call from a lady who has heard us speak and who receives our prayer letter. She doesn't have access to the internet very much and so she isn't just as up to date as other prayer partners. However, a few days ago she phoned just to ask how we are keeping, how the work is going on and what she can pray for. She was so excited to hear that we will be speaking at a meeting in her area in a few weeks time. That was a real encouragement to us. In all honesty, we can only remember about 2 or 3 other times in the 10 years of FML that someone has phoned us to specifically ask for prayer points. There have been emails and personal contact of course, but still this call stood out. Then we were speaking to someone whom I barely know, someone I met maybe only once before and who William has never met. Yet they could tell us that we are prayed for every month in prayer meeting they attend. That was an encouragement to us. We shared in a meeting on Thursday evening. It was a Church we had never been to before and those gathered were certainly interested and focussed as we spoke. That was an encouragement to us. On the way to that meeting, I received a message from a children's worker in Kenya. He had been to our office. He is so excited by our Bible Lessons that he wants to introduce them to other Churches he works with....and hopes to encourage them to enrol their children. Approximately 1000 children. That was an encouragement to us. On Saturday I communicated with a School Principal in Nairobi. The children had been using our lessons but they stopped for a while due to some challenging circumstances. He was delighted to know that they can still continue and I have today asked Eunice to contact him and resume the lessons. That was an encouragement to us. In all of these situations the Lord encouraged us. It brings great joy. However, whilst we often look for encouragement....what a privilege to be an encourager ourselves. To know that through us, others are encouraged. We thank God for an opportunity we had to do just that over the weekend. It gave us great joy to know that others were encouraged and excited because we did something simple. As we continue in the work our prayer is that we will be an encouragement to many. Over the next number of weeks we will represent Feed my Lambs at 12 different meetings. It will be a busy time as William also continues with his course and we have various personal commitments also. However, it is a wonderful opportunity to work for the Lord. Please encourage us further by praying for each and every one of these meetings. The presentation we show and the message we leave will not be the same at each meeting. We need guidance as to what the Lord would have us share and we need help in preparation. We also need some inspiration in putting together some more literature and we need God to provide for the printing of it. Through these meetings we have an opportunity to encourage others, please pray for us and be part of what we do. |
